Alright, I’m gonna figure out what all the fuss about Cloud Nothings is about.

There’s like this invisible tournament bracket in the back of my mind that tracks with all the buzzbands that I don’t listen to. Then I finally listen to them when I see them mentioned enough times by enough different people I respect, and based on how appealing their name/schtick/general sound are. 

I’ve been hearing the name “Cloud Nothings” for like a year now, and literally nothing about them has struck me as appealing after a cursory glance. A couple of mopey songs, a weird video, etc. 

But Greenwald called it “the first real rock album in several years” or something like that, so I’m intrigued. Plus, Best New Music and a generous cosign from Stereogum.
