catacomb kids (daytrotter session) by aesop rock
activator, made a fire, made a wheel, made a snack for later
Catacomb Kids cuddle up fantastic labor
when the town speed freaks sleep, trap the traitor
he will ask for papers
say I’m an activator
made a roof, made a weapon, made a flag per acre
by the snotty little nozzle of a latchkey neighbor
when the folk push aggie over some dap with gator
he will catch the vapors
Aesop Rock is kind of a verbal impressionist. Interpretations of his lyrics can go all over the place, (including the theory that they’re mostly nonsense, which is viable, but I don’t buy it) but I think that the way he strings words together can be really powerful, even/especially when they don’t have any literal meaning.
