Question before bed time:
okay I know having my Rufus as *my* favorite version makes me lame but damnit, I don’t care. I have an embarrassing amount of Hallelujah covers in my library.
I’m still with Rufus on this one too. I love all the versions I have in the ol’ IT, but Rufus still takes the cake for me. It’s the combination of his voice and the production on the track. Can’t help it and I’m not sorry.
I’ve actually had a pretty intense arguement about this with a friend. Rufus remains my favorite, and I think tabitha’s right about the combination of the richness of his voice and the rich simplicity of the piano. They seem to be in perfect harmony and they carry this smooth richness.
