this bell hooks mixtape is excellent. It’s a rebirth of that socially-conscious Chicago hip-hop that we haven’t really seen since Lupe fizzled out and became the Ron Paul of hip-hop. Their focus is on social issues, but they approach it in a way that isn’t heavy-handed, and in fact sort of irreverent.

I never thought I liked Chicago, (the band) but when James Murphy included “I’m A Man” on one of his DFA Radio Mixes, I was converted, at least to that glorious song from back in the day when they were called Chicago Transit Authority. 

I’ve talked about this a few times before, but Adderall totally rewires what I crave musically, so I’m making a big “Adderall Jams” playlist, and “I’m A Man” will be kicking it off. I will likely share it with you guys.

I really love traveling with Hutch because he’s an architecture major and has a well-cultivated knowledge of architects and their buildings, and so we were able to see a multitude of amazing buildings in Chicago, my favorite being Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie House.

We also stopped by Wright’s Home and Studio and Unity Temple, and Ludwig Mies Van der Rohe’s Crown Hall, which was breathtaking.

So, apparently no real hotel in Chicago will check in anyone under 21, so I canceled my Motel 6 reservation over the phone, astonishingly profanity-free. So I turn to the wide world of hostelling, and book Hutch and I two beds in an 8-bed room. The reviews on this place are so unsettling. It’s going to be like the sketchiest summer camp anyone ever attended. I’m not bringing my laptop, so peoples, check my Twitter for more updates.

President Barack Obama and UK Prime Minister David Cameron exchanging bottles of beer after making a wager on the USA/England World Cup match. The match on 12 June  finished 1-1 so the pair both presented each other with a bottle of beers at a G20 press conference.

Cameron gave Obama a bottle of Wychwood Hobgoblin and Obama’s choice was Goose Island 312, which he insisted Cameron try cold because “in America we drink our beer cold.”

While Pres. Obama certainly known how to pick a tasty beer, he might want to take a look at our article on proper beer temperature.
