Tuesday, I’m heading out to the Oxford American Summit for Ambitious Writers, where I’ll stay for something like five days on Petit Jean mountain (where Mattie Ross from True Grit went ‘coon huntin’ with her daddy) and basically living it up with a bunch of other people doing a residential workshop.
In attendance will be Pico Iyer, The Atlantic editor emeritus William Whitworth and David Remnick, editor of The New Yorker.
This is an L.A. Times blog post about the event.
It’s basically like a cruise on a mountain for writers with live music, cocktail hours and chef’s demonstrations. I’m not sure how I got in, much less with an Editor’s Choice scholarship, but I’m stoked about it.
