“I Am Trying To Break Your Heart” // Brandon Linn

I adore this song. When I went through my YHF phase last semester, I had an intense period of watching the opening credits to I Am Trying To Break Your Heart on repeat. Anyways, my baby B-Linn has just released his rendition of the song for all the ladies out there. Get it for free on his bandcamp and enjoy!

Oh man, I’m blown away by this one…

This is a record, okay? This is something someone will pay fifteen, sixteen, whatever bucks for it. And that’s cool; but, you know, what’s encoded somewhere in the bottom of this thing, this dopey little disc, that’s what matters. This, the artifact, the actual object does not. What’s encoded in here, that’s any good, you’ll hear it, and you’ll either get it or you won’t. And just as a writer, as a fan, as a guy who just listens to music a lot, if you don’t get it, I just think that that’s kind of too bad.

Hate it Here by Wilco

It’s about time for me to quit being a casual Wilco fan.

Wilco
“Jesus, Etc.”

Jesus don’t lie. You can rely on me honey. You can come by any time you want. I’ll be around. You were right about the art. Each day is a setting sun. Tall buildings shake and voices will break singing sad sad songs. Tuned two chords. Strung from your cheek. Bitter melody. Turning your fortress around.

Sometimes I tell people that I like Wilco, but I really just mean that I like this song. I’m sure I’m not the only one.
